Cosa si raccontano un brillante e un chiodo arrugginito? Com’è l’abbraccio tra un componente elettronico e un metallo prezioso? Nella ricerca di Freddi la contaminazione riguarda ogni aspetto: anche quello della scelta dei materiali. È forse proprio nel microcosmo dei gioielli che meglio si manifesta la straordinaria capacità di Freddi di giocare e mettere in dialogo materiali diversi. In fondo i suoi pezzi di oreficeria altro non sono che sculture in miniatura, piccoli capolavori da portare addosso. Tattili, sinestetiche, profondamente espressive, tutte le opere di Freddi giocano con le materie mettendole ogni volta in discussione, cambiandone l’identità, obbligandole a parlare linguaggi diversi dai loro consueti. Non c’è materia – povera o preziosa – che Freddi non abbia interpretato, facendola propria, dandole un ruolo nella sua composita visione del mondo.

The answer is yes: contamination is one of the key points in Bruno Freddi’s art, also when it comes to the materials. It’s especially in the jewellery design field that Freddi shows his skills in combining and playing with completely different materials: the jewels he creates are actually miniature sculptures, small wearable masterpieces. Precious or not, any kind of materials can be used by Freddi to create art because he truly understands the potential behind them: that’s the reason why he is able to match them in such an unusual yet successful way, so that they can perfectly fit in his peculiar artistic vision of the world. All his artworks are extremely synesthetic and can provide a multi-sensory experience.
